Analysis updates
What changed in the analysis, and when
When we change how Renewal Option reads or scores a lease, it is listed here. Each report records the version that produced it, shown in the analysis history on your lease page. If a grade differs between two versions, the change below is the place to start.
Current version: 2026-10-12a, using Claude Sonnet 4.5 from Anthropic. We use one fixed version of the AI model and change it only on purpose, after re-checking our test leases, and every change appears on this page.
Findings quote the lease word for word
October 12, 2026 · Version 2026-10-12aCurrent
Each finding now quotes your lease's own wording with its section number, instead of sometimes paraphrasing it. That makes every finding easy to find in your document, and it lets Compare Versions check a landlord's revised draft against the exact words of the earlier one.
Grades on the same lease could differ from the version before.
Renewal notice ask written from your lease
October 11, 2026 · Version 2026-10-11c
The suggested ask about your renewal notice window is now written from the notice period your lease states, rather than worded by the AI. The finding itself and the grade work as before.
Grades work as in the version before.
Asks name the result you want
October 11, 2026 · Version 2026-10-11b
Suggested negotiation asks now say the outcome you are looking for, not only the clause to raise.
Grades work as in the version before.
Plain-language reports
October 11, 2026 · Version 2026-10-11
The wording in reports was rewritten for readers without a leasing background, and sentences that sounded more certain than the analysis supports were softened. Scoring did not change.
Grades work as in the version before.
Demolition clauses judged on notice and compensation
October 8, 2026 · Version 2026-10-08
A landlord's right to end the lease for demolition now limits the overall grade only when the notice is short (six months or less) and compensation is weak or missing. Longer notice no longer limits the grade on its own. Reports also adopted more measured wording throughout.
Grades on the same lease could differ from the version before.
More consistent grades
September 8, 2026 · Version 2026-09-08
Long leases are now read in smaller sections, and any term that could limit the overall grade gets a second, focused check against its threshold before it does. Re-running the same lease gives much steadier results.

Steadier analysis, and versions recorded
September 7, 2026 · Version 2026-09-07
The analysis was made more consistent, long leases no longer run out of room partway through, and a report now says so if part of the analysis did not complete. From this version on, each report records which version produced it.
Grades on the same lease could differ from the version before.
Reports made before September 7, 2026 have no version recorded. Questions about a change to your report: support@renewaloption.ca.
