Renewal Option is built to be used by everyone

A commercial lease is one of the largest financial commitments a small business makes, and understanding one should not depend on how you see, hear, or use a computer. Renewal Option is built to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA, the standard referenced by Ontario's Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and by most public-sector and enterprise procurement.

Renewal Option is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Partially conformant means most of the product meets the standard, and some parts have not yet been verified to the level we would want before claiming full conformance.

We use that wording deliberately. Automated testing detects roughly a third of accessibility problems. It can confirm that a colour contrast ratio is sufficient, but not that a page makes sense when read aloud. We would rather tell you exactly what has been checked than claim a clean bill of health we have not earned.

• Every colour in the interface is measured against its background. Text meets the 4.5:1 minimum, and the brand colour was darkened in September 2026 specifically so that buttons and links would clear it.
• The whole product works from the keyboard, with a visible focus indicator on every control and a “skip to content” link on every page.
• Pages use real headings, landmarks and lists, so screen-reader users can navigate a report by its structure rather than reading it end to end.
• Status changes, such as a sign-in code being sent, an error, or the wait while a lease is analyzed, are announced, not shown only in colour or only on screen.
• Form fields have labels, hints are attached to the field they describe, and errors say what went wrong in words.
• The interface honours your system's “reduce motion” setting, and reflows without horizontal scrolling down to a 320-pixel-wide screen.
• Nothing depends on colour alone: every grade and severity carries a written label beside it.

Automated checks with axe-core against the WCAG 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 A and AA rule sets, run on the real production build rather than a mock-up. As of September 19, 2026 these return no violations on the home page, the sample report, sign-in, pricing, help and terms.

Alongside that, checks no tool can make: walking the product with the keyboard, measuring every contrast ratio by hand, testing with reduced motion enabled, and inspecting the structure of the exported PDF.

We would rather name these than have you discover them:

• The exported PDF depends on your browser. Exporting uses your browser's own print function, so the report you save is always exactly the report you read. Chrome and Edge produce a tagged, structured PDF that a screen reader can navigate by heading. Other browsers may not add those tags. If you need a structured copy and your browser does not produce one, email us and we will send you one.
• No independent audit has been carried out. Testing to date has been internal. A third-party audit and formal screen-reader testing with NVDA and VoiceOver are planned, and this page will say so when they are done.
• Uploaded leases are not made accessible. If the lease you upload is a scanned image with no text layer, we cannot read it, and neither can your screen reader. The analysis we produce from a readable document is accessible even where the original is not. For some tenants, that is the first time the lease has been readable at all.
